After a few insomniac nights and much Streets listening, this is what’s come out. My first outing into the spoken word arena. Going to make this into a proper track. Fat beats to follow!
Phew, it’s been a little while. A mad month indeed, but one culminating in lots of good stuff. Some upcoming surprises, and a return of the writing mojo. Welcome back my good friend, I’ve missed you. Now, please stick around a while. You and I have got serious work to do.
More to come, but for now, I hope you’ll enjoy another installment of Mind the Gap, this one featuring family, farmland, and a little mascara…
An old poem I wrote for the inside of my dad’s album sleeve earlier this year. Just re-discovered on my hard drive. One of these days, I will bring to life the awesome idea for a music video we had to go with this.
Right Hook:
Swinging across a makeshift skyway, they are locked into each other’s far away gazes. Connected strangers: Something in the sweep of her dress. The way his hair shadows the outline of his wirey jaw.
Their faces open to one another, revealing every renegade emotion and every inch of bright, shiny newness.
Reeling in a cloaked reality.
Unbeknownst, they are nothing that each other expect, but in this moment, they are everything to one another. Her starry head and his bolting heart have already fallen into future embraces.
But their fingers are triggering different ideas…
